BW To Color


In this assignment, I was tasked with taking a picture of myself and editing it with shades of color.

I used this picture because I liked the aesthetic of it, I noticed I had slight eye bags and I wanted to see if they would come across in the colorized version. I then used a filter to turn the colors in the picture to black and white, so I could more easily add color myself.



These are the colored versions. I used the color wheel on Adobe Color to find interesting palettes that would work together. In each project I turned my skin a different color, as I think that's the most unique change you can make in a project like this. 

I also thought it would be interesting for me to be fully in bright colors, but keep the background in black and white.

When I started work on the portfolio, I purposely picked the loudest, most abrasive template I could find. The template was about 4 pages long, so with the 4 pages of content it gave me I spread it out among the 13 pages I ended up making for my portfolio. I think it led to a tasteful design, and I'm very happy with how it looks! I tried my best to inject some personality into the written parts next to the examples of my work.

Somewhere Photoshop Project

For this project, I wanted to insert myself into the Five Nights At Freddy movie somehow. I decided to make it look like I was in the animatronic suit used by William Afton, or Springtrap. I found a good image that I could insert my face into online. I took a few pictures where I splashed some water on my face and tried to look deranged. Removing my face from my own picture was easy enough. I struggled with removing the face of the actor but eventually managed to by using dark painting. Because the shadows didn't look quite right, I used more dark painting at various levels of opacity to recreate shadows.

With all the glitter, I can't imagine how many edits it must have taken, along with the bruise effect he put on himself.  He may have just extended the photo slightly longer to the side and then added more glitter, which I imagine would be easier. 2. https://www.instagram.com/p/BZyr9r7BNTm/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link&igshid=MzRlODBiNWFlZA== I like the vibe of this photo, the colors and people in the background is something I would probably want to replicate for my Somewhere project.
