Artist's Statement

The black and white logo I made really charms me in its simplicity. The straightforward lines and shapes presents a degree of innocence, but the lack of color makes the creature seem otherworldly. I feel like he could be either a helpful presence or a mystical threat if you were to meet him in a post-apocalyptic world. My personal favorite of the designs is the black and white version, but I also like the modified third version where he looks like a godly embodiment of the night sky.

Hello world! My name is David Z, and this is my blog. I am a student at the University of Tampa, currently studying under the film major. I love movies, and just recently watched Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, a beautiful romantic drama starring Jim Carrey. With all the glitter, I can't imagine how many edits it must have taken, along with the bruise effect he put on himself.  He may have just extended the photo slightly longer to the side and then added more glitter, which I imagine would be easier. 2. https://www.instagram.com/p/BZyr9r7BNTm/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link&igshid=MzRlODBiNWFlZA== I like the vibe of this photo, the colors and people in the background is something I would probably want to replicate for my Somewhere project. Using Tools in Illustrator

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3GzumUieDPY   The video by Flow Studio moved a bit fast, but it was very straight to the point. I liked how he would mostly explain how to activate the tools with a keyboard shortcut key, like using “T” for text. I will definitely be using the shortcuts, that’s going to make it much easier. I think I will mostly struggle with the curvature tool, it looks hard to use and a bit complicated. Also this guy apparently has a game on Kickstarter which he advertised a few times. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xzilL2zvldo   Bevcause the curvature tool seemed challenging, I watched thie video to help. The guy recommending to draw the outline is good advice, I will definitely be doing that. I like how you can choose whatever point you want along the lines drawn, but the whole idea of vectors and drawing these lines still feels complicated, its something I’m going to have to work on.
